PicoWay

aka picosecond laser

What is the PicoWay Laser?

PicoWay is a cutting-edge laser that works in trillionths of a second for a photoacoustic effect that minimizes thermal damage to surrounding tissues. Instead of using heat, it delivers ultra-fast bursts of energy that gently break up unwanted pigment or stimulate natural skin repair beneath the surface.

Key Benefits

  • Treats a broad range of concerns (scars, wrinkles, dark spots, melasma, multi-color tattoo removal), low to no downtime, and safer for diverse skin tones.

How does the PicoWay laser work?

  • For pigment & tattoos: PicoWay pulses shatter pigment particles into microscopic fragments that the body clears naturally.
  • For scars & wrinkles: The fractional (Resolve / Resolve Fusion) modes break the laser into hundreds of tiny points of light that gently reach beneath the skin surface. These microinjuries stimulate new collagen and elastin, smoothing texture over time.

How many laser treatments are required?

  • Pigmented Lesions: Most patients need 1–3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart and experience noticeable lightening after 1–2 sessions.
  • Tattoo Removal: Results are gradual. Some lightening may be seen after the first session, but complete clearance typically requires multiple sessions spaced 6–12 weeks apart.
  • Melasma may require 2–9 sessions depending on severity and depth.
  • Resolve / Resolve Fusion (Scars, Wrinkles, Texture) a series of 3–5 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended for best results. Collagen remodeling is a gradual process: most patients notice smoother texture and improvement in scars or fine lines over several weeks, with results building after each session

What can I expect after treatment with the PicoWay?

  • Patients can experience mild redness, swelling, or darkening of pigmented lesions. It is normal and should resolve in a few days. In rare cases, patients can experience pinpoint bleeding, tingling or purplish spots. After the laser treatment, icing can be helpful for minimizing redness and swelling.
